AI Caddy — Privacy Policy

AI Caddy is a voice-controlled golf GPS caddie. This policy explains what it does with your data. We keep it simple: we collect as little as possible and we do not sell your data.

What we use, and why

• Microphone / voice. When you activate the caddy (by saying “AI Caddy” or tapping the button), the app records your spoken question and sends the audio — through our secure backend — to OpenAI, which generates the spoken reply. Audio is used only to answer you in the moment. We do not store your recordings.
• Location (GPS). Your precise location is used on your device to calculate distances to the green. Your position is shared with the AI only as yardage numbers so it can answer your questions. We do not store your location history.

Who processes it

Voice and text are processed by OpenAI (and Anthropic as a fallback) via their APIs to produce answers. Under OpenAI’s API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their models and is retained only briefly for abuse monitoring. Green locations come from OpenStreetMap.

What we store

Our backend acts only as a secure relay — it does not keep your audio, your location, or your conversations. AI Caddy has no user accounts and shows no ads.

Children

AI Caddy is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices

You can revoke the microphone or location permission at any time in your phone’s settings; the relevant features will simply stop working. Uninstalling the app removes all its local data.
